Gavin is an ordinary boy from Billericay, Essex. Stacey is an ordinary girl from Barry Island, South Wales. They’ve spoken on the phone every day at work for months but they’ve never actually met… until now.
Gavin & Stacey is one of the best sitcoms out there in my opinion. My wife and I are always recommending it to friends and acquaintances. But it is not for everyone, apparently. I think some of the humor is too broad for some, of the themes too adult. (Not too explicit, but mature.)
There are diverse and shall I even say strange characters here, but look closely and you will see that they are all part of the fun. They are not held up for ridicule or punished for being different. At the center of it is a warm tolerance and love they share for each other, warts and all. This is a friendly show without hatred, a place that can be scary for some people. And the Welsh accent can get a bit thick at times, but that is a good reason to watch the series again to catch anything you might have missed! I could go on and on, but just give it a try. You should know immediately whether you like it or not.
