This was one sick TV series
It's about smart students who are considered inferior to other students.
It's basically just an exercise in dehumanization.
The entire class is somewhat dehumanized, but one student in particular is the scapegoat even of the class.
This is something Hitler would have loved, but no one else.

Great show with a lot of good messages about how complicated life can be for smart overachievers. It puts to rest a whole lot of the disgusting stereotypes that just because someone is successful it is because they are "privileged." The kids work hard and deal with a lot of unnecessary drama from people who often just want to use them and take credit for their accomplishments.
